Message from DGN.A.Sampathkumar:
My Dear Rotarians,
Dr.Sai joins me in wishing you all the seasons greetings.
The dawn of New Rotary year with the R.I theme Future of Rotary is in your hands gives new beginning, new hopes ,new plans and new accomplishments for a yet another promising year under the leadership of our DG W.Anand.
The change of leadership in all clubs, districts, and at international levels is unique only to Rotary. These changes provide the new Leaders an opportunity to bring newer ideas to the service of mankind.
All the 106 clubs in our district now have New Presidents and New Teams in place to take the legacy of the clubs to further heights with their service programs and new ideas in their projects. It is going to be a real challenging assignment to most of us and I wish that turns out to be a rewarding experience.
The flagship service program of Rotary-Polio Eradication-continue to attract our fullest attention as we are on the verge of getting rid of this dreaded virus from the face of the earth. It is true that even one polio affected child remains, the danger of Polio resurfacing cannot be ruled out. Hence, our efforts in Polio Awareness campaigns and the contribution of Rotary in this global health program shall get sustained attention.
R.I.Dist 3230 has become distinguished in Rotary world for Membership Growth, Contribution to TRF, Innovative service projects and our unmatched passion for Rotary.
We need little extra concentration in two aspects in my opinion.
1. We need to make our clubs stronger by bringing in good and potential new Members. As they would possess new ideas and infuse vibrancy to the club.
2. We need to adhere to the basic principles of Rotary in the functioning of the clubs
and follow the guidelines in letter and spirit.
May I wish each one of you a glorious year of Rotary service.

About DISTRICT GOVERNOR 2011-2012: A. SAMPATHKUMAR
Rtn.A.Sampathkumar, fondly called as Sampath by his friends, is a Civil Engineering graduate with distinction from Bangalore University and started his career as a Charter Engineer for property valuation for banks and National Insurance companies at Thiruvannamalai. Rtn.A.Sampathkumar and Saiprasanna hail from a freedom fighters family at Chennai. The guiding principles of the family have been simplicity, service to others and maintaining ethical standards in personal and professional lives.
Rtn.A.Sampathkumar is the proprietor of Sampeth Engineering Corporation, one of the largest dealers of Plastic and other Building materials in Tamilnadu representing big names in the industry like SINTEX, CERA, HINDUSTAN and many such brands with state of the art showrooms in Vellore and Thiruvannamalai. The company has over 75 dealers under their network. Vasantha Nursing home, a 30 bedded hospital with all latest medical facilities is run by the family where Dr.Sai Prasanna Sampathkumar is the Chief Medical officer.
Rtn. Sampathkumar is the Charter Member of Rotary Club of Thiruvannamalai and a Rotarian of good standing since 1986. Rotary club of Thiruvannamalai is the second largest Club in 3230.
Rtn.A.Sampathkumar was the President of R C Thiruvannamalai in 2000-01 which was a year of innovative projects and high vibrant programs and the Club was selected as the third best club of the district and won silver RAT trophy. He won the Best president Award in 2000-2001, Best Assistant Governor Award in 2003-2004 and earned respect for his innovative and dedicated contribution as District Chairman for Community services -Development in 2004-05,District Chairman for Community Services-Healthcare in 2006-07 and District Chairman for Youth Services in Rotary year 2007-08.
Rtn.A.Sampathkumar is the Architect in forming two new clubs in the district- R C Polur and R C Chengam. A Past President of Thiruvannamalai Chapter of Indian Red Cross Society, Rtn.A.Sampathkumar excelled in every position he held in Rotary and social Life
Rtn.Saiprasanna is also a Rotarian and has been in the District Committees for Family Participation and Community Services Healthcare. As Bulletin editor of the Club, She won coveted prizes for the Club.
Both Sampath and Sai have visited almost every part of the world as delegates of Rotary Overseas Programs and in business to Srilanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Europe and United States and including the Los Angles Rotary Convention in 2007.
Sampathkumar and Saiprasanna rightfully an ideal Rotary Couple with total involment in Rotary, Social and professional affairs. The two lovely children - son Kanishka and Daughter Puvi-both budding Doctors. Son Kanishka represented R. I. Dist 3230 in Semester at Sea program and acclaimed allround appreciation.
The Family Runs a Charitable Trust in which School Education assistance to the needy, free Medical care for the underprivileged, School building and Temple projects are done every year.
